God is love

The Anglican Parish of Jimboomba welcomes your enquiry in regard to a Christian Marriage Service.

We offer the choice of either of our church buildings....

St. John's, Mundoolun Road, Mundoolun.

or

St. James, 47 East Street, Jimboomba

We are also able to officiate at Anglican marriage services that are held outside of the Church.

In order for us to officiate at your wedding at least one of you needs to be baptised (Christened) in any Christian church.

We are committed to doing all we can to help your marriage be a lasting success, and so all the couples for whom we officiate need to complete the Prepare Marriage Preparation program. We are trained in this program and will lead you through it. Prepare involves 2 sessions, and as well as that we would need one session with you to plan the service, making three sessions in total.

We need to see certain documents as part of our legal responsibility. Original full Birth certificates will need to be sighted as proof of identity and if you have been divorced, a copy of the final divorce papers will also need to be seen.

A day before the wedding we usually arrange a time for a rehearsal and the final signing of legal documents.

We are able to officiate at weddings where one or both parties has been previously married and divorced, but we need to apply for permission from our Archbishop to conduct the wedding at least three months before the planned day. This is not usually a problem, nor does it take very long, but we cannot guarantee we can officiate at the wedding until we have the Archbishop’s approval.

FEES

For a marriage service in one of our churches, the fee is $950 This includes an organist, the church, the preparation program and all paperwork.
